IP Address Negotiation for ISDN
IP address negotiation allows remote node PPP client software to request an IP address from a Cisco
core router during call setup. This request is part of the PPP IP Control Protocol (IPCP) setup
negotiation. IP address negotiation is specifically designed for remote node connectivity where the
end user uses a PC workstation with a nonrouting device, such as a Cisco LAN2LAN for ISDN card,
or an external ISDN terminal adapter.
