Output for ‘show cdp neighbors’

This command displays information about directly connected Cisco devices.

It shows the following information:

• Device ID name

• Interface on the current system that is active in this CDP connection

• Holdtime (length of time the CDP information will be held before

discarding)

• Device Type (router, switch, etc)

• Port ID of the interface on the other device that is active in this CDP

connection

After entering the show cdp neighbors command for your router, answer

the following questions about the devices directly connected to your router:

12. What are their device ID names?

13. What kind of interfaces are these?

14. What type of devices are these?

15. What platform?

16. What are their port IDs?

You can get more detailed information about all the neighboring devices,

including network address, by issuing the command:

r1# show cdp neighbors detail detailed neighbor

information
