Verifying that Outgoing SPID Hunt is Enabled

Use the following conditions to verify a successful conﬁguration:

• Your router is connected to a DMS-100 or DMS NI1 switch.

• You have one data call on the router.

• You make a voice call but the POTS port used for the voice call is associated with the same SPID

as the existing data call.

• If the feature is not used then you’ll get a busy tone. If the feature is enabled then the voice call

will go through.

This section documents new and modiﬁed commands associated with the outgoing SPID hunt

feature.

no POTS outgoing-hunt

To disable the router from looking for a free SPID to use for outgoing voice calls, use the [no] POTS

outgoing-hunt EXEC command.

no POTS outgoing-hunt

Syntax Description

This command has no arguments or keywords.

Default

The automatic search of a free SPID for outgoing calls is disabled.

Command Mode

This command applies to U.S. switch types only.

Example

The following example disables the router from seeking a free SPID for outgoing voice calls.
