Changing your Password

Step15 Press <Backspace> until the value and the Name keyword are removed.

Step16 Type the following command:

Contact<SP>

Step17 Enter contact information and press <CR>.

For example, type “Technical Support”.

The system information configuration is finished.

Changing your Password

The Cisco Catalyst 1800 Password is defined by the Community Name. If you want to change the

switch password, you will have to add or change a Community Name, ensuring that it has

Read/Write access. For more information, see Configuring SNMP on page 3-28.

If more than one Community Name with R/W access exists, all of those names will be valid

passwords for the switch. If a R/W community name has been entered, R/O community names will

no longer be accepted as the password.

Exiting the Console Interface

Type this command to exit the console interface:

The Password prompt screen reappears.
