For the reverse direction of the connection, service group 62 is used. Service group 62 will

be conﬁgured in the opposite direction of service group 61. Using the same example shown

in Figure 4-11, Figure 4-12 shows service group 62 conﬁgured inbound on the router’s

WAN interface. The following ﬁgure shows the complete placement and conﬁguration

using both service groups.

WCCP Conﬁguration

This section provides a basic overview of conﬁguring WCCPv2 within both IOS and

WAAS. Detailed WCCPv2 conﬁgurations speciﬁc to various design options are presented

in Chapters 5 and 6.

There are three primary steps involved when conﬁguring WCCPv2 in WAAS. First, you

must deﬁne which routers the WAE will establish WCCPv2 communication with. WCCPv2

can be conﬁgured to use either unicast or multicast for communication. Unicast is the most

commonly deployed conﬁguration. For unicast communication, you must deﬁne the IP

address of each router in the service group that the WAE will communicate with. This is

done using a router list. A router list is conﬁgured using the following syntax:
