To add additional features to this network, refer to "Feature-By-Feature Router Configurations."

After configuring your router, you need to configure the PVC endpoint. For a general configuration

example, refer to "Cisco 3640 Gateway Configuration Example" at the end of this chapter.

Configuring the Default Gateway

Enter the following command to set the IP route for the default gateway:

ip route default-gateway ip address-mask

Configuring the Ethernet Interface and IRB

Follow the steps below to configure the Ethernet interface and IRB, beginning in global configuration

mode.

Set the IP address and subnet mask for

the Ethernet interface.

Enable the Ethernet interface. Router

(config-if)#

no shutdown

Exit configuration mode for Ethernet

interface.
