Description RMON Alarms, Trap Destination, and other dialog boxes under
the Configuration menu could have colors that make the text in
the dialog box hard to read
Symptom Depending on your X setup in your environment, when you launch
Fault➤RMON Alarms or Configuration➤Trap Destinations, the edit field
next to Probe and Community fields could have a have a default color
that is too dark thus making the text in the box hard to read.
Details RMON alarms and other Configuration dialog box does not have a pre-
set X foreground and background colors. It will use whatever color that is
defined in your X environment. [Defect ID 804–023671]
Work-Around: You may change your X environment default setting or customize the
NetMetrix X application default file to change the foreground and back-
ground color for your dialog box color. The NetMetrix X application
default file contains comments that provide directions for modifying file.
The location of the file is located at /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Netm.
Description RMON Statistics➤Live Statistics and Historical Statistics does
not work with Fast Ethernet VLAN interfaces
Symptom When launching Performance➤RMON Statistics➤Live Statistics and
Historical Statistics against a VLAN interface, you can see either one of
two error messages: “NetMetrix Historical Statistics Error: The probe
x.x.x.x is of “unknown/unsupported/unresponsive type.” Or, “The follow-
ing selected agents: xyz:ifindex:vlanid” are either “not reachable” or “are
of an unknown media type”. These agents are ignored for this operation.
Details RMON Statistics➤Live Statistics and Historical Statistics are not sup-
ported for VLAN interfaces, these menus should be grayed out when
VLANs are selected.
Work-Around: Use Performance➤Network Analysis➤RMON to monitor the RMON sta-
tistics for VLAN interfaces.
